Jose obtained his education as a dental technician and practiced his profession in Queens, New York, and other areas of New York for many years.
He had a number of hobbies and other interests out side of work. He was a self taught musician composing in Contemporary Blues Rock Jazz genre. He played several instruments including acoustic guitar, lead guitar, piano, harmonica, and percussion. His recorded songs are in the 1000's and he always stated his music was inspired by his family. He loved martial arts, and studied Taekwondo with Master Moon Sung Lee along with his 3 children in Queens New York. In his later years, he collected and repaired clocks, and guitars.
The most important thing in Jose's life was his family. He was especially proud of his children and greatly enjoyed spending time with them.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Angela Corea, whom he married in 1975 in Nicaragua. Jose is also survived by two sons, Jose and Steve Corea, and one daughter, Carol Corea; four sisters, Rosa Talavera, Tania Velez, Rosa Maria Trabanino, and Josefina Astacio; and one brother, Roberto Corea.
Jose was predeceased by his parents and four brothers, Guillermo, Carlos, Javier, and Alberto Corea.
Visitation will be held at Roberts Funeral Home West Chapel, 6241 SW SR-200, Ocala, Florida 34476, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 14th. There will be an hour of visitation from 11:00 to noon on Thursday, July 15th at St. Jude Catholic Community, 443 Marion Oaks Drive, Ocala, Florida 34473. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon at the church, Reverend Father Raul Valdez celebrant.
