Betty Taylor Richards - Age 88, passed away on July 11, 2021.
She was the daughter of the late Herman Banks and Randa Augusta Taylor of McMinnville, TN. Mrs. Richards was a long -time resident and active member of the Donelson Community, a member of the Donelson Church of Christ since 1957, educator at David Lipscomb University for over 20 years as a 4th grade teacher and student teacher mentor. She was a lifelong member and Chapter Regent of the DAR, member of the Colonial Dames, and member of the 1812 Society, member and past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, member and past president of the GFWC Stones' River Woman's Club, past president of GFWC Music City District, and member and president of the Donelson Garden Club.

Mrs. Richards volunteered in the Donelson elementary schools to support literacy and spearheaded a book-selling program, donating all proceeds to the Nashville summer reading programs. She also worked as a docent at the Frist Art Center.

Mrs. Richards received her B. S. and M. A. in education from MTSU.

She is survived by her son, Dr. William Richards of Memphis and his wife Amy; her daughter, Dr. Betty Thomason of Maryville, five grandchildren, Katie Flinchum (John), Alex (Sara) and Michael (Makey) Thomason, and Wesley and Emily Richards and two great grandchildren, J.T. and Jamie Flinchum.

Gathering of family and friends will be on Friday, July 16, 2021 from 5-7 pm and Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 10am with Celebration of Life Services at 11am at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
