Vivian Margaret Johnson, 98, passed into the arms of the Lord, on June 26, 2021. She was born in Seattle, WA, on August 21, 1922, to Charles D. and Myrtle (Allen) Johnson. She grew up in Seattle with her brothers, learned to play violin, and was a member of the Seattle Youth Symphony. She graduated from Franklin High School, on June 12, 1941. During high school, she met her one true love, Raymond R. Johnson. She and Ray married on June 17, 1943. After high school, Vivian worked as an elevator operator in downtown Seattle. Ray joined the Coast Guard during World War II. On June 12, 1944, they welcomed their first son, Terrence L., and on December 17, 1945, their second son, Lawrence R., arrived.

They raised their sons in the Renton, WA, area. Vivian was active in sports, including skiing and golfing. In 1965, Ray and a partner invented foam filled ski boots and formed the Foam Fit Ski Boot Co. of Bellevue, WA. In 1966, Vivian and Ray purchased a home in Squilchuck to be close to Mission Ridge and skiing. They made the move to the valley permanent, in 1968. Vivian was a partner with Ray in his drywall business and later, she sorted apples, until age 75. By that time, they had moved to Cashmere, WA, and when Ray passed away in 2004, she moved into the Cashmere Manor apartments, where she happily resided among friends for 17 years. Her goal was to live to be 100 and die in her apartment, but sadly, due to health reasons, she was not able to meet her goal. She spent the last two months at Regency Care Center, in Wenatchee, WA.

We are thankful and grateful to all of Vivian's friends and neighbors at Cashmere Manor for their love and help and to her in-home caregivers. Also a special thanks to Regency Care Center, for caring for Vivian during the last two months of her life.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray; and one brother, Dale. She is survived by her sons: Terrence L. (Karen) of Wenatchee, WA, and Lawrence R. (Dyan) of Renton, WA; brothers: Don (LaVelle) Johnson of Sun City West, AZ, Gerald Johnson of Sun City West, AZ, and Larry (Mary Ann) Johnson of Ferndale, WA; sister-in-law, Nancy Johnson of Maple Valley, WA; grandchildren: Christina Johnson and Raymond (Carrie) Johnson of Olympia, WA, Leslie (Mark) Hicks of Mill Creek, WA; Nels (Britt) Johnson and Winona (Evan) Snell of Wenatchee, WA; great-grandchildren: Kyle Santos of Olympia, WA, Ryan Johnson of Olympia, WA, Nelly Johnson of Tri-Cities, WA, Nylah and Mac Johnson, and Finley and Betty Snell of Wenatchee, WA; and numerous nieces; nephews; and cousins.

A special thanks to her cousin, Marilyn Jones, for all her assistance in Vivian's times of need.

Vivian will be laid to rest with her husband at Tahoma National Cemetery. Jones & Jones-Betts Funeral Home, Wenatchee, WA, is assisting the family with arrangements.
