NOVEMBER 3, 1938 – JUNE 29, 2021

Obituary of Barbara J. Farr
Barbara Farr, 82, passed away 3:14pm on June 29, 2021 of natural causes surrounded by family. Barbara was born on November 3, 1938 in New Orleans, LA to Pearl and Andrew Norman. She was preceded in death by her eight brothers and sisters, Mary, Ann, Julia, Theresa, Agnus, Buddy, Dorothy, Micheal, her husband Roy Farr, and step-children Jeannie and Eddie Farr. She is survived by her four daughters, Kathryn Petrich, Patricia Orjasaeter, Nanci Holden, and Michelle Jeansonne, six grandchildren, Sole Farr, Lars Orjasaeter, Jessica Pugh, Brian Holden, Emily Holden, and Nannette Jeansonne Burns, and three great grandchildren Adelaide, Hunter, and Ivy.

A resident of Chattanooga for over 50 years Barbara was a business owner with her husband Roy operating an air charter service at Hanger One at Lovell Field airport in Chattanooga where she worked with her professional sorority Kappa Sigma Epsilon to develop the annual Orange Grove Plane Ride fundraiser to raise awareness and funding for the home which supports the physically and intellectually disadvantaged. Barbara and Roy moved on to operate the Collegedale airport for over a decade and continued to facilitate the annual Orange Grove fundraising. They later operated the Fort Payne, AL airport before retiring to Chattanooga.

Throughout her life Barbara has supported many individuals in personal and career development and has left a lasting legacy in the aviation community and the local community by raising awareness and support of individuals with disabilities. She will be greatly missed by friends and her large extended family.

There will be a memorial service held at later date. In lieu of flowers please send a memorial contribution to the Orange Grove Center, 615 Derby Street, Chattanooga,TN 37404.
