Her brother Mathew was born in Germany a year before his family emigrated to North America by way of New York specifically around Buffalo Rochester area and ultimately to Hesson , Ontario in Perth, County,Mornington Twp.Ontario
She married Joseph Ament in St. Clements, Ontario in 1875.
They travelled west and in 1881 census they are found in Winnipeg Manitoba.
She has two children with Joseph. Jenette born 1879 and Otto William 1881.
Otto's birth is registered in 1881 in Perth County Ontario,(on Rufina's fathers farm near Hesson, Ontario.).
At some point the children and their mother come back to live with her parents in Perth County Ontario. Otto's birth is registered in 1881 by Rufina's father Adam Karley.
Rufina goes with John Brown to make a new life. They have sons John, Arthur William, Sandy , Heather and George Brown in Illinois. and daughters Laura Mabel and Emma in Canada and Michigan respectively.
She and John Brown built a long life in Blue Island Island Illinois.
In September 1935, Fannie came home to Linwood to visit her brother Mathew and family and her Hesson friends and relatives. There is a mention in the Waterloo Chronicle Sept.5th 1935.
Her brother Mathew Karley's obituary in 1936 mentions his sister Mrs. Brown of Blue Island Illinois.
