Donald Audon Witt, 70, Parkville, Mo., passed away November 16, 2007, at his home. A visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at Rollins Funeral Home, Platte City, Mo. The funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at the First Baptist Church, Platte City. Burial in Platte City Cemetery, Platte City. Memorial contributions may be made to Platte City United Services or the Kansas City Free Health Clinic.

Don was born July 28, 1937, in Smithville, Mo., the only child of Bertha (Kerns) and Audon Rothwell Witt, who both preceded him in death. He graduated from Smithville High School and William Jewell College before going to law school at UMKC. After graduating from UMKC Don was the Platte County Prosecuting Attorney for three terms; past board member of the Missouri Bar Association; past president of the Platte County Bar Association. He was a board member of the United Services Community Action Agency, president of the Circles of Support Guiding Coalition and a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. Don practiced law in Platte City.

He is survived by his wife, Ceil Witt, of the home; two sons, Donald A. Witt, Jr. of Blue Springs, Mo., and Gary Witt and wife Angie, Parkville; daughter, Kara Witt and Larry Green, Holiday Island, Ark.; step children, Aaron Eckerberg and wife Nicole, San Diego, Calif., and Kathryn Burgess and husband Doug, Durham, NC; five grandchildren, Nathaniel Witt, Christopher Witt, Sage Green, Taylor Eckerberg and Madison Eckerberg.
