Mr. Marcus Lynwood "Mark" Montgomery, 77, of Jesup passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021 at Jesup Health and Rehab Center.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 16, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Aaron Frazier and Rev. Larry Layfield officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Zion Church Cemetery.
Mr. Montgomery was born May 20, 1944 in Tifton to the late Ernest Montgomery and Stella Lillian Weldon Montgomery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Elaine "Pat" Coker Montgomery who died May 8, 2010 and two grandchildren. Mr. Montgomery was a member of Mt Zion Baptist Church in Chula and was retired from Bob White Rents. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Mr. Montgomery was a family man and most happy when he and his family were together. He especially enjoyed his children and grandchildren. Mr. Mark was a humble man always willing to help those in need.
Mr. Montgomery is survived by three daughters and son-in-law, Vicki Harrell, Melissa and Marcus Bateman and Hazel Daniels all of Leesburg; one son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Carla Montgomery of Albany; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Donna Montgomery of Jesup and one sister, Wanda Rowell of Tifton.
