Linda Lou Bethune was born on December 16, 1940, to parents Louis and Florence (Peters) Bethune in Lake City, IA. She and her family lived in Nemaha, IA, before moving to Sac City where she and her siblings attended school. She graduated from Sac City High School in 1958 and then continued her education at Augustana College where she graduated from with a bachelor's degree in 1962.
Throughout her life, Linda lived in several states including California, Oregon, and Nebraska, as she worked as a medical technologist for 38 years before retiring in 2000. After she retired she moved back to Sac City to live on the family farm.
Linda was very active in the community. She was a member of the After Five Club, Lions Club, and Toast Masters. In her free time she enjoyed reading and had a massive collection of frogs. Collecting frogs was something she and her sister Kay shared interest in.
Linda was very well known for her intricate card-making. She created very personalized, creative cards that she sent to family and friends for all kinds of special occasions and holidays. It was something her nieces and nephews especially looked forward to receiving.
She may have lived alone but she was never really "alone" as she had Muffie, Mary Grace, and Charlotte, her adored furry feline friends that kept her company. Linda will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her siblings: Albert (May) Bethune of San Jacinto, CA, and Kay (Ken) Osborne of Santa Ana, CA; nieces and nephews: Katherine Feinman, Katelyn Bethune, Brendan (Nicole) Osborne, Devin (Ingrid) Osborne; great-nieces and nephews: Victoria, Jade, Aria, and Sylas Osborne, Katherine, Vivian, and Logan Blakely; an aunt, Lena Perotti of Whittier, CA; many cousins, other extended family members and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Florence Bethune.
