Retired Navy Seabee, guitarist and government contractor David Allen Vaughan Esq. died on Saturday July 10, 2021.
He served ten years, six months, and eleven days in the United States military with active duty in Vietnam. He was also a loving husband, father, and brother who probably won every argument he ever entered into (at least in his own mind).
He spent time on all seven continents this world has to offer, and instilled this kind of stubborn and adventurous spirit within all three of his surviving children. He instilled a lot, actually, that wasn't really realized until Joshua, Gary, and Barbara were forced to contemplate their own lives once he was gone and came to realize that they were all him in some way.
Whether it be an itch to travel, or an itch to create art, his kids are all slightly improved versions of the man who raised them and this, it seems, is the only result any good parent could hope for. Furthermore, his loving wife of 43 years RoseAnn has perhaps the best judgement of any person on earth and she chose to spend her life with him, which is something to consider when measuring the man. He is survived also by his brother Michael, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nephews.
