He was born on July 28, 1969 in Louisville, Kentucky, the son of Gorden and Jean (Daulton) Bernard.
He graduated from Burris High School in 1987 and received his Bachelor's Degree from Purdue University in 1991.
On April 28, 2006 in Muncie, he married Nicole A. Harris.
Michael worked for Schwan's for 22 years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and former member of the Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed football and his favorite teams were the Steelers and the Colts. Michael was active in his children's activities and especially enjoyed watching his son play baseball and attending his daughter's band concerts. He also enjoyed coin collecting.
Surviving are his wife of 15 years, Nicole A. Bernard of Muncie; two children, Gabriel Gorden Bernard and Alexa Nicole Bernard of Muncie; siblings, Therese Stovall (John), Ramona Bernard, Ann Wiley (Ken), George Bernard (Shirley), Rose Evans (Mike), Patty Feathers (Alan Burton), Paul Bernard and Nola Bragg (Jim); his mother and father-in-law, Maureen and Kevin Harris of Muncie; one brother-in-law, Jeff Harris (Morgan) of Winchester; one sister-in-law, Val Loveless (Shawn) of Gaston; numerous nieces and nephews; friend, John Doerner (Audrey) of Muncie; and his dogs, Ginger and Izzy.
He was preceded in death by parents and one sister, Mary Bernard.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 19, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2300 W. Jackson Street, Muncie with Father Coady Owens presiding.
Cremation will take place following services
