Born August 8, 1988, in Philadelphia, he was the husband of Marissa Spedale Wells, to whom he was married to for five wonderful years, and son of Clayton M. and Phyllis A. Skreski Wells.
Clay was raised in Doylestown, where he built friendships that lasted his entire life. He attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic School and La Salle College High School, where he excelled on the lacrosse field. Despite his small stature, Clay's relentless drive earned him a spot on the Fairfield University Division I Lacrosse team. His teammates recall his endless grit and fearless nature in the face of players twice his size. Clay received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering after enjoying four rewarding years at Fairfield University alongside his high school sweetheart, Marissa; his brother, Gordie; and his sister-in-law, Jamie.
Throughout their twenties, Clay and Marissa enjoyed countless adventures, moving from Dallas, TX to Atlanta, GA before eventually settling back at home in Doylestown. Clay enjoyed traveling to many European countries, attending country music concerts, spending time at Lake Norman on his family's boat, and sampling as many varieties of bourbon as he could get his hands on! He was loved for his selfless nature, his relentless spirit, and his refusal to quit, even when the odds were stacked against him. He had a prolific career at Johnson & Johnson, specifically shining as a manufacturing manager within the medical device field. He touched so many people in his too-short life and will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
In addition to his wife and parents, Clay is survived by: brother Gordie Wells, and wife Jamie, of Dorchester, MA; sister Stevie Wells, of Brooklyn, NY; grandmother Patricia Skreski; and beloved yellow Labrador Callie. Clay is preceded in passing by grandparents Stanley Skreski, and Charles and Sonya Wells
