Joseph E. Riley, 77, of Vernonia, Oregon, passed away Tuesday July 6, 2021 in Vernonia, Oregon. He was born August 26, 1943 in Nelson County, an electrician for MBF Inspections, United States Air Force Veteran of Vietnam, member of Lyons Club of Vernonia, Oregon, and loved to restore old cars.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Spalding Riley; parents, Joseph and Ruby Riley; and brother, Charles N. Riley.

He is survived by his two sons, Joseph P. (Leslie) Riley of Bothell, Washington, and James E. Lemon of Santa Clara, California; three grandchildren, Jenna Riley, Caelan Riley, and Adam Belbachir; seven siblings, Jerry Riley of Bardstown, Patsy Chesser of Sycamore, Illinois, David (Martha) Riley of Bloomfield, Brenda Haptonstall of Shepherdsville, Debbie (Larry) Colvin, Mike (Angie) Riley, and Lena (George) Renteria all three of Sycamore, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be 11:00 am Friday July 23, 2021 at Barlow Funeral Home, with burial in St. Michael Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Larry Colvin will officiate. Visitation will be 3 – 8 pm Thursday July 22 and 9 – 11 am Friday July 23 at Barlow Funeral Home.
