From probate file, a bill submitted as not paid on Aug. 17, 1859, to the estate by Dr. J. W. Freeman shows a series of visits (Aug. 8 - 13) to the Montgomery household when 3 people were sick, Hugh, wife and daughter. On Aug. 11, 3 people are treated. On Aug. 12 only Hugh and daughter are treated. A bill dated Aug. 11, 1859 on Montgomery's account is submitted to the estate later from a business for "Shrouding and Trimming wife $11.25" So I assumed she died on Aug. 11, 1859. The final dr. visit is on the 13th for Hugh and daughter. The dr. bill stops there. A receipt in the file says "September the 3rd 1859 received of Joseph Price one of the refferees (sic) of the heirs of H. L. Montgomery five dollars and twenty five in full for making coffin for H.L. Montgomery and wife. --- Nathan Ellington
