Robert L. "Bob" Hanson, 78, of Albany, IL, died Sunday, July 11, 2021 at MercyOne Medical Center in Clinton, IA.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 16, 2021 at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Fulton, IL, officiated by Pastor Daniel Foelske of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Savanna, IL. A visitation will precede the service starting at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be at Lusk Memorial Cemetery in Albany.
A memorial has been established by the family.
Bob was born May 1, 1943, in Clinton, IA, to Lee and Ada Blanche (Emmert) Hanson, their last surviving son.
He attended rural Whiteside County grade schools and was a 1961 graduate of Erie High School. Bob served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. On October 8, 1966 he married Sandra Kay "Sandy" Cosman in Clinton. She died November 18, 1992. After serving in the military, Bob worked at Pioneer Seed Corn as a salesman and also farmed alongside his wife in the rural Albany, IL area. He was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Savanna, IL.
Survivors include two daughters, Sheri (Kevin) Sasiela and Connie Hanson; three grandchildren, Michael (Jordan) Sasiela, Cassandra "Cassie" Hanson and Kara (Johnathon) Zawodniak; one great-grandson, Jack Zawodniak and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sandy; two sisters, Irene Hollingsworth and Bessie Thomson and two brothers, Leonard and Melvin Hanson.
