David Lynn "Heavy" Bishop, 70, of Columbus, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021 at his residence.

Born November 15, 1950 in Columbus, David was the son of Eugene and Doris Percifield Bishop. He married Mary Jane Goodwin and they have been together over 30 years.

David was retired from the Bartholomew County Highway after 30 years.

He loved horses, motorcycles, cars, hanging out with his friends and spending time with his family.

Cremation is planned and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Norman Funeral Home in Hope.

David is survived by his wife, Mary Jane of Columbus; children, Stacy Foist of Columbus, Jennifer Emmert (Brad Beach) of Columbus, and Andrew Emmert of Columbus; grandchildren, Haley Foist, Sage Hancock, Bladen Hancock, Emily Beach, and Adilynn Beach; great-grandchildren, London Ayers and "Rough" Ryder Ayers; siblings, Dean (Bev) Bishop of Columbus and Cheryl Hendry of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Phyllis Pruitt and Charlene Bair; and brother, Stanley Bishop.
