Larry James Fitzgerald, 75, passed away at his home in Livonia on Saturday, June 29, 2013. He was a native of Krotz Springs and retired from the DOTD after 32 years of service. Visiation at Niland's Funeral Home, Livonia, on Tuesday, July 2, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation resumes at the funeral home Wednesday, July 3, from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, Livonia, at 10 a.m. Father Joseph Sanjay will celebrate the Mass. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gloria Vallet Fitzgerald; a daughter, Karla Hebert; three sons, Lonny Fitzgerald, Donny Fitzgerald, and Scott Fitzgerald and wife Tonya; brothers, Lionel, John, Robert and Bernel; a sister, Joan Roth; three grandchildren, Jacob and wife Christan, Lacey Loyd, and Krystle Hebert; and two great-grandchildren, Madison Carter and Rayden James Bueche. Preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen Fitzgerald; and brother, William "Dub" Joseph Jr. Pallbearers will be Lionel, John, Robert, and Bernel Fitzgerald, Mike Fitzgerald, and Dennis Granier Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Jacob Fitzgerald, Donald Ray Bueche Jr., Don Ward, and T-Boy Bergeron. The family would like to thank the Livonia Volunteer Fire Department, Fordoche Fire Department, Livonia Police Department, Acadian Ambulance, and Pointe Coupee General Hospital.
