Mr. Eric "Gateway" Gilbert, was born on October 4, 1960, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to Ernest and Betty Gilbert on Friday, July 9, 2021. Jesus called Eric and Eric answered. Eric now rests from his earthly labour.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two aunts; one stepson.
Eric leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of twenty-four years, Elizabeth Gilbert; three brothers, Ernest (Theresa) Gilbert, Jeffery Gilbert, and Glen Bailey, Jr.; two sisters, Carol Pilcher and Weinshana Bailey of Chattanooga, TN; aunts, Diana Williams, of Chattanooga Tennessee, and Mary Jo Flakes of Buffalo, New York; two daughters, Amanda Gilbert of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Kressa (Awudu) Yusif of Duluth, Georgia; eleven grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Public viewing will be held from 2 pm - 6 pm on Friday, July 16, 2021 at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at John P. Franklin Home.
