COVER, Carol Tanner, 99, died June 27, 2021. Born on November 2, 1921 and raised in Richmond, Virginia, Carol was the daughter of Albert S. and Ophelia Minor Tanner. In addition to her parents; her husband, Dr. Jesse R. Cover; and her sister, Helen Minor Tanner, predeceased her. She is survived by many cousins.

Carol graduated from Sweet Briar College and received her Ph.D. in history from the University of Virginia.

She served as office manager of her husband's practice and was the librarian at the Huddleson Library in Fairfax City, Virginia for many years. In recent years, she enjoyed serving as a volunteer librarian at Westminster Canterbury. Carol was also an avid sports fan.

A graveside service will take place in Hollywood Cemetery on Saturday, July 24, at 11 a.m. Donations in Carol's memory may be made to Sweet Briar College, Westminster Canterbury Foundation or the Richmond SPCA.
