Harvey Nichols, 70, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at his residence in Jay, OK. Harvey was born on January 15, 1951, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas to his parents, Kenneth and Zola Nichols. Harvey married his lovely wife, Grace on March 13, 1989, in Miami, OK and they have been married for 32 years. Harvey started his Truck Driving Career at the young age of 14 and retired as a Supervisor in the Poultry Industry. He had spoken often of wishing he could still drive the Big Rigs Cross Country but instead lived his dream by following all the truckers on You Tube! Harvey loved hunting, fishing, cutting wood and just being outside doing anything he could get his hands on. He took pride in his yard work and his gardening and always looked forward to decorating their house during Christmas time. Harvey loved the Lord and enjoyed singing gospel and Old Country Songs and even picked the guitar back in his younger years. He was a proud member of Round Springs Baptist Church. Harvey enjoyed spending time with loved ones and friends but his all time favorite thing to do was spending time with his grand babies. Harvey will be dearly missed by all who knew him, and his memory will always live on in each one of us, especially during his favorite time of the year, Christmas. Harvey is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Zola Nichols; brother, Wilbur Nichols and grandson, Jared Thomas. Harvey is survived by his wife of 32 years, Grace (King) Nichols of the home; daughters, Cheryl Pritchett and husband Brad of Jay, OK, Stephanie Linn of Colcord, OK, Diane Thomas and husband Russell of Anderson, MO and Whitney Hanes and husband Ross of Jay, OK; son, Larry Nichols of Tulsa, OK; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; also 3 men who he considered as his own, Leonard, Ronald and Perry Blackfox all of Kansas, OK; numerous extended family and friends. Harvey's family visitation to greet friends will be held on Monday, July 12, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00pm at Lawson's Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 311 W. Gray St., Jay, OK. Harvey's Celebration Of Life Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, 11:00am, July 13, 2021 at Grass Cemetery, Salina, OK with Rev. Russell Thomas Officiating and his dear friend Butch Winfield speaking the Eulogy. Burial will be at Grass Cemetery, Salina, OK.
