Judith Harris Coleman, age 81, passed away peacefully into the presence of Jesus on July 2, 2021. Born on December 18, 1939, Judy lived a full life which included many varied interests. A Dallas native and class of 1958 graduate of North Dallas High School, she had many talents including cheerleading and tennis.

It was shortly after graduation from high school that she married the love of her life, Gary, on July 18, 1958. Together with her husband, they served in ministry at Lavon Drive Baptist Church for nearly fifty years. While best known for her role as pastor's wife, Judy had many other skills and hobbies which she pursued throughout her life including a life-long passion for reading and traveling. As an accomplished cook, she ministered to her family and countless others through preparing meals and her famous desserts. As a musician, she ministered to her church family as church organist for over thirty years. Utilizing her office skills, she served on the secretarial team of the church staff for many years prior to her retirement in 2009.

As much as she was beloved in other roles, Judy considered her greatest accomplishment to be the roles of wife, mother, and grandmother. She faithfully served the Lord alongside her husband lifting him up in prayer and support. As a mom, she was a constant supporter of her four children whom she loved dearly. As a grandmother (Mimi, as she was known), she was a constant source of encouragement, grace, and compassion to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Judy lived her life to serve others and made a lasting impact on countless family and friends.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, July 8, in the Worship Center of Lavon Drive Baptist Church in Garland with burial immediately following at Restland Cemetery in Dallas. The family will receive family and friends in the Worship Center beginning at 10:00 A.M. until 10 minutes prior to the service.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents Leon and Margaret Harris.

She is survived by her husband of nearly sixty-three years, Gary; son Cary and wife Karen of Suwanee, GA; son Lynn of Pace, FL; daughter Beckye Evans and husband Kenny of Celeste, TX; daughter Sundee Anderson and husband Trey of McKinney, TX; sister Margaret Malone and husband Ken of Sandy, UT; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two nephews and their families, as well as a host of friends and loved ones.
