Donald (Donnie) Williamson, passed away on July 7th, 2021, at the age of 69, due to complications from lung cancer.

Donnie was born in Alleghany County, Virginia on October 28th, 1951 to Donald Williamson, Sr., and Gay Charles.

Donnie worked most of his life at what is now the WestRock paper mill in Covington, Virginia as a shipper/loader before retiring to Moneta, VA with his wife, Martha Briscoe Williamson.

Donnie was an avid golfer, fisherman, and member of EastLake Community Church, who enjoyed the outdoors and tending to his home and garden.

Donnie was well-known to many in both the Alleghany and Moneta communities as a caring friend, a giving neighbor, and an honest and easy-going man who cherished his friends and family.

In addition to his loving wife, Donnie is survived by his mother, Gay Charles Keith, as well as his three children: son, Chris Williamson and wife, Amanda, and grandchildren, Kaleb, Ashton, Brenna, India, R. J., Lily, and Julia Williamson; son, Dustin Williamson and wife, Renee, and grandchildren, Patrick, Bella, Raylan, and Walter Williamson; and son, Ty Williamson, and grandchildren, Alex, and Brayden Azucena.

Donnie is also survived by Williamson brothers, Don of Florida, Steve of Alabama, Roger of Virginia, and Rick of Virginia, as well as his sister, Donna in Indiana and Dana in Virginia, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who are all deeply saddened and will mourn his passing greatly.

Donnie's life will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 14th at the Eastlake Community Church in Moneta, Virginia, beginning with a visitation at 1:00 p.m. and followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m.

Donnie's family has asked that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Franklin County Planned Pethood animal adoption center of Rocky Mount, Virginia.
