He was born August 18, 1943 in Van Buren, Arkansas, the son of the the late Ellis Lee Yancey and Erna Yancey of Fort Smith and was a furniture worker.
Survivors were; one daughter Tammy; his mother, Erna Yancey, (now deceased September 19, 1994); five sisters, Dorothy, Ima Dell, Reba, Norma and Linda; three brothers; and his grandmother, Mary.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday at Bethlehem Freewill Baptist church. Gilbert Pixley was the officiating minister. Burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, under the direction of Fentress Mortuary.
