He was a life resident of the Foster area. He graduated from Covington High School in 1960 and attended Purdue University for one year. He was a salesman of western wear and tack for eight years. After that he drove a truck for 20 years at Landstar Ranger. He enjoyed riding and showing horses. He specially enjoyed watching his granddaughter riding rodeo. He was a member of West Lebanon Lodge #352 F.&A.M.
Surviving, besides the wife, are: a son, William Christopher Baumgart, West Lebanon; a daughter, Collette (Brian) Ward, Williamsport; and a granddaughter, Cobie Leann Ward, Williamsport. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, with the Rev. Grover Williams officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Danville, Ill." - Fountain County Neighbor, April 7, 1998
