BELMONT — Michelle M. "Goldie" Gilbert, 66, of 544 Province Rd. died March 31, 2005 in Lakes Region General Hospital after an extended period of ill health. She was born in Littleton on February 8, 1939, the daughter of Horace "Ted" and Jennie (Ingalls) (White) York.

She was raised in Littleton and graduated from Mount St. Mary Academy in Hooksett. She began her career at the Mountain View Hotel in Whitefield and worked for a time at the NH Department of Employment Security. For several years, Michelle was the manager of the dining room and lounge at the former Perkins's (now Eastgate) Hotel in Littleton.

She later worked alongside her husband Gerard Gilbert, as vice president and office manager of Gerard Gilbert Construction Company until his death in 1986. Mrs. Gilbert also was employed as the manager of Carl's Motorcycle Shop in Laconia.

Her family and friends will remember her warm, caring and generous nature.

Family members include six children, Allan Gilbert of Belmont, Brian Farland of Laconia, Jodi Gilbert Taylor of Meredith, Nanette Sanborn of Belmont, Andrea Gilbert of Belmont and Kevin Gilbert of Belmont; six grandchildren, David, Angela, Crystal, Theresa, Nichol and Alexis; three great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Brianna and Zachary; two brothers, David York of Florida and John York of Belmont; an aunt; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be in the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St. Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 30 Church St., Laconia Monday at 10 a.m. Rev. Gary Kosmowski, pastor will be the celebrant. Spring burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Timothy C. Molan and David L. Furber are the funeral directors.
