Johnnie Ray Shaffer "Pops", 66, Port St. John, went to rest with the Lord and other family members April 25, 2012. He was born March 24, 1946, to John Guy and Madeline (Jones) Shaffer in Pie, WV (Logan County). Johnnie grew up in Bellows Falls, VT, and moved to Port St. John, FL in 1988.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Ann; sons, Johnnie, Jr., Rusty (wife, Kara), Paul; and daughters, Janet (husband, Pete) and Renae. 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren in VT and NH and Brian (grandson) Port St. John. Sister, Joanne. He was preceded by his son, Travis, in 2007.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He drove tractor trailer coast to coast and received many safety awards. He also had his own body shops and specialized in custom work using his hands to mold and shape metals (one of a kind vehicles).

He is a member of The American Legion Post #37, Bellows Falls, VT.

Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Fay Blvd., Port St. John, Saturday, April 28th, 4:00 p.m.
