David "Dave" Marshall Garrett, age 83, of Shalimar, FL Passed away on August 18, 2020. Dave was born in Strawberry Plains, TN to Edwin and Pearl (Moore) Garrett on December 12, 1936. On August 18, 1963 he married the love of his life, Gloria (McNeely) Garrett, in Miami, FL. To this union, they were blessed with two children Lorraine (Garrett) Sharpe and Michael Garrett.
Dave moved his family in 1984 to Northwest Florida to continue the family business at Mac's Lock Service. While living in the Panhandle, Dave joined Shalimar Baptist Church and was a member there for the past 35 years where he served as a deacon.
Dave leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Lorri (Michael) Sharpe; a son, Michael (Cheri) Garrett; grandchildren, Matthew, Clayton and Dylan as well as numerous other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Garrett and his brother, George Garrett.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 24, 2020 at Shalimar Baptist Church, 17 4th Avenue, Shalimar, FL 32579 beginning at 11:00 AM with Pastor Chuck Poplin officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Due to COVID-19,masks are required and visitors are encouraged to practice social distancing while attending the services.
