She was born April 13, 1937 in Marshfield, MO the daughter of Noble Sterling and Bertha {Cantrell} Nunn. On June 25, 1955 in Herford, TX, she was united in marriage to Alfred E. Chapman, who preceded her in death on February 27, 1997. Also preceding her in death were her parents; two sons in infancy; one daughter in infancy; a grandson, Cyrus Edward Chapman on November 17, 2008; two brothers, Jim Nunn and Jack Nunn and one sister, Lorine Nunn.
Surviving are one son, Matt Chapman of Exeter; one daughter, Bonnie Clark and her husband Ron of Exeter; one brother, Clyde Nunn of Springfield, MO; four grandchildren, Kellie Worley, Kasie Clark, Abby Chapman and Isabella Chapman; an honorary granddaughter, Kaylee Patrick and three great grandchildren, Andy Jacobson, Ronnie Clark and Dawn Clark.
Mary received her education in Marshfield, MO and then traveled to Texas, where she met Alfred. In the later 1950's she and Alfred moved to Wichita, KS, remaining there for a few years before moving to Exeter in the early 1960's to be closer to family. Mary was a member of Washburn Church of Christ. Some of her favorite pastimes were growing flowers, cooking and reading her bible. She loved her grandkids and enjoyed making everyone happy. Family was the most important thing to her.
Services were held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Bill Banks conducted the services. Burial at Concord Cemetery in Exeter.
