Deborah M. Hicks died in Lovelace Hospital, Albuquerque, NM.

Parents: Julius W. and Hazel L. Matthews Dilley. Her father died Aug. 7, 1961. Her mother died Oct. 4, 2000.

Hsuband: William D. Hicks, married for 37 years.

She worked for Bank of America for 10 years, Kmart for a brief time and Bell Telephone Company for 33 years. She was an operator and manager For Bell. She graduated from Union High School. Prior to graduation, she attended classes in the New Castle Area School District for 10 years and played in the school and marching band there and later at Union High and New Castle High schools. She enjoyed bowling and was in many leagues in New Castle and New Mexico. She was in the Bell Telephone League at Parkstown Bowling Lanes. She also liked to golf and was good at it. She was an inspiration to all her family and friends. She was very courageous battling cancer for two years. While living in New Castle, she belonged to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Relatives: a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia M. and Mark Goenen; a son, Christopher J. Hicks; a brother, Jay Dilley; three sisters, Dorothy Porter, Connie List and Jackie Eaton; and a granddaughter, Alyssa N. Houeman.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Julia Ransom; her stepfather, James D. Matthews on June 18, 1994; and a nephew, Tommy List.
