William "Bill" Callahan, 80, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away at home on July 9, 2021, surrounded by family. A lifelong Indianapolis resident, Bill was born October 12, 1940 to the late Cornelius and Josie Callahan.

He was a graduate of Scecina High School who worked in the automobile sales business for many years. Bill displayed his artistic skills in the 1970's and 1980's, when he specialized in customizing vans and adorning them with eye-catching, airbrushed murals. He enjoyed classic cars, traveling with his wife and reading.

Bill loved all animals, especially rescued dogs. In his life, he rescued several dogs, including "Biscuit", a sweet Siberian husky mix who became a beloved family member. He often thought of and mentioned Biscuit long after her passing as he enjoyed his retirement years with his wife in a shaded house overlooking a lake.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Elaine Patrick Callahan; his children, Roxanne Winings (Bruce), Rick Callahan and Kirk Callahan (Lone); grandchildren, Jesse Winings, Emma Callahan and Stella Callahan; sister, Cathi Hampton and nephew, Jeff Hampton.

Bill was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

Final arrangements and care entrusted to Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel
