Funeral services will be held at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, Elizabeth City, on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Sydney Lassiter, Eulogist and Dr. Rev. Ricky L. Banks, Pastor. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Mr. Lassiter was a long time employee of J.W. Jones Lumber Co. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, son and husband. He will be greatly missed by all. He was the son of Emma Lowe-Crandell and the late Pearlie Lassiter and the husband of Tanya Lassiter. Survivors include five daughters, Evonne Sawyer of Elizabeth City, Kyshawn Brooks (Patrick) of Elizabeth City, Monona Copeland Williams (Shandell) of Edenton, Mahoganic Quinonez and Tyonnie Quinonez of Greenville; three sons, David Lassiter Jr., Tyrone Wilson of Edenton and Kasmir Massey of Greenville; four sisters, Sherry Lowe Bell of Currituck, Alice Bond, Joyce Lassiter Rankin of Edenton and Bessie Riddick (Leon) of Elizabeth City; ten brothers, Rev. Sydney Lassiter (Lois), Thomas Perry (Michelle), Wendell Perry (Stephanie), Roy Lassiter (Michelle), Robert Lassiter (Margaret) and David Jackson (Doris), all of Edenton, Sammie Lowe and Tony Lassiter (Jackie) of Raleigh, David Hurdle (Crystal) of Elizabeth City and Fred Lassiter (Stephanie) of Fayetteville; aunts, Mary Morning and Mamie Spellman; uncle, Rudolph Spellman; 13 grand-children; and two great-grandchildren.
