Norman was born on Oct. 6, 1942 to Norval and Violet (Midge) Hamberg, in Austin. He graduated from Austin High School. In November 1989, Norman married Norma Helm in Las Vegas. In his spare time Norman liked to travel and restore cars, particularly his 1980 Jeep Scrambler, which he loved to take off-roading and on treasure hunts in the deserts of Arizona. Norman had recently returned to Austin to help care for his mother after the death of his stepfather.
Norman is survived by his wife, Norma Hamberg, Las Vegas, Nev.; children, Troy (Helen) Hamberg, Wichita Falls, Texas; Jacqueline (Albert) Aldesco, Los Angeles, Calif.; stepsons, Marty Deters, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Perry (Beth) Deters, Rockford, Ill.; Tim Deters, Las Vegas; 11 grandchildren; mother, Violet Falk, Austin; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007, at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary Chapel, with Father Joe Fogal officiating. Visitation will be for one hour before the service at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
