Former Resident Dies at Shawnee
Mrs. Lizzie Ross Mills, Seminole, died in a Shawnee hospital last Thursday following a brief illness. Mrs. Mills was a granddaughter of Chief John Ross and was born and raised in Tahlequah, where she attended the Female seminary. She was a niece of Mrs. R. L. Fite. For the past fourteen years she had been teaching in the Seminole high school.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church of Seminole last Saturday and burial was inthe Chelsea cemetery.
Those attending the funeral from Tahlequah were: Mr. and Mrs. Ray Smullens, Mr. and Mrs. Bruse Ross and Mrs. R. L. Fite, who is spending the winter with her son, Dr. Denmon Fite, Bristow.
