Rosa Mae (Austin) (Gean) Rollins was born on November 3, 1902 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of Stephen Walker Austin (1876–1920) and Eliza Ellen (Taylor?Thomas?) Austin (1876–1920).
She was married 1st on February 1, 1920 in Hardin County as the 1st wife of Lewis "Elmer" Gean (1902–1982), and besides the two of them in their household in the 1930 census, there were two Gean nieces age 7 and 8. Within the next year or two they were divorced, and Rosa was married 2nd in 1932 to William James Rollins (1887–1961).
A retired employee of Standard Candy Company and a member of the Park Avenue Baptist Church, Rosa was living at 3208 Elkins Avenue in Nashville. She was 61 years old when she died of cancer on August 26, 1964 at Mid-State Baptist Hospital.
Survivors included her sister Mrs Rena Malone of Nashville and brothers S W Austin of Des Plaines, Illinois, M C Austin of Rosemont ,Illinois and W A Austin of Nashville.
Funeral Services were held on August 29th at Park Avenue Baptist Church, and burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Nashville.
