Betty Perry, 82, of New Castle passed away on July 3, 2021, at her residence, surrounded by her family and friends. Betty was born on March 13, 1939, in Scottdale, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late George and Bette Crockett Wyland.

Betty graduated from New Castle High School in 1956. She married Joseph Perry Sr. in New Castle on June 13, 1959. He preceded in death.

Betty enjoyed visiting local casinos. A loving mother and grandmother, Betty's greatest joy was spending quality time with her family, especially her granddaughters.

Betty is survived by her children, Michael Perry, Cheryl Hackett and Rochelle Mrozek, all of New Castle; and two granddaughters, Caitlynn Barber (Scott) of New Castle and Rebecca Ithen (Gabin) of Grove City. Betty will also be missed by her pet turtle, Survivor.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Perry Jr.; and two sisters, Maribell Viggiano and Georgia Smith.

Visitation occurred on Thursday July 8 at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory. A service followed at the funeral home at noon. Rev. Richard Nero will officiate. Burial was in Oak Park Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3208 Wilmington Road, New Castle PA 16105.
