Lady Mary Fox was born on 19 September 1610 in St Giles, Cripplegate, London, England. She was the daughter of Sir William Fox and Lady Mary MacGeoghegan. She also had a sister Eliza who was born in 1617 and adopted in 1618.

On 23 September 1631, Lady Mary married Sir Edmond Byrne Fox Malone in Shropshire, England. His year of birth has been misquoted as 1626 which would have made him five years old when they married. Continued research hopes to find the correct year soon.

In 1632, the newlyweds removed from England to Ballynatowne, County Wicklow, Ireland to live closer to Lady Mary's parents.

In 1639, Lady Mary's parents, William Fox and Mary MacGeoghagan, died within two weeks of each other; her mother on 23 March 1639 and her father on 7 April 1639. Both were 77 years old.

Mary and Edmond had two sons:

Sir Anthony Byrne Fox Malone, born in 1645 in Ballynatowne, County Wicklow, Ireland. Anthony died on 1 January 1750 at age 105.

and

Sir Edmund Byrne Fox Malone II, born in 1650. Edmund died at the age of 89 on 7 June 1736, in County Offaly, Ireland.

Lady Mary Fox Malone died on 28 November 1669 at the age of 59.

Lady Mary's adopted sister Eliza married Neal Malloy. Nothing else is known about him. Eliza died in England in 1709 at the age of 92.

Lady Mary's husband, Sir Edmund Byrne Fox Malone I died on 7 June 1736, the same day as his namesake son, Sir Edmund Byrne Fox Malone II.

Considering that his son was 89 years old when he died, the father must have been well over 100.

We have to remember that the Old Style calendar (9 months, not 12) was in use until 1752, so 100 years of age to us was not the same as their 100 years old.
