The Diocese was Ardfert and Aghadoe (Kerry). One son, Martin Crean, married Ellen Dowd. Another son, Patrick Crean, married Catherine Courney, and their son Thomas became a Polar Explorer. These sons, Patrick and Martin, were married in Roman Catholic parishes according to their marriage records. A daughter, Catherine, married Philip Griffin, and three of their daughters immigrated to Connecticut.

It was calculated in 2022 that she died about 1874 in Knockglass Beg Townland, Kilgobban Civil Parish, Cappaclogh Catholic Parish, County Kerry, Ireland. It was documented in 1851 that her husband owned a house in Knockglass Beg. Since, in the same townland, Hugh (T Crean) and Johanna (Nano) were listed in the Census 1901, and not this Johanna Fynn Crean, she died before 1901.

Although it was affiliated with the Church of Ireland, Roman Catholics were also buried there since they required sacred ground for burials of the baptized.
