Gordon Wayne Thompson, III passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2021.

Gordon was born April 7, 1972, in Fort Worth, Texas where he resided for most of his life.

After finishing high school and attending classes at Tarrant County College, Gordon worked with his maternal grandfather, who was a building contractor. From early childhood he'd spent many hours on building job sites with his beloved "Grandpa Charlie" learning various aspects of the business. Through the years, he acquired a great deal of skill and knowledge in the building trade. He was proficient at masonry, plumbing, electrical work and all aspects of roofing. At the time of his death, Gordon was employed as lead Quality Control Inspector by Quick Roofing (recently merged with MK Custom Roofing Company), where he'd been employed for almost 25 years.

Gordon was also a talented musician, composer, and superb guitar player. His talent for and great love of music seemed to be inherent, as both sides of his family excelled in the area of musical proficiency... starting with both sets of grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, his father, and his daughter, Lily. He and his father frequently enjoyed playing guitars together. One of the highlights of his life was attending a Paul McCartney Concert with his daughter and his mother... Three generations of Beatles lovers!

Gordon was known for his mischievous sense of humor and "wicked" laugh and had a lifelong love of animals. His beloved daughter, Lily, however, was his greatest joy and the utmost pride of his life.

Gordon was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents; maternal grandparents, Charles R. Haugrud and Mary A. Williams Haugrud; paternal grandparents, Gordon W. Thompson and Geraldine Harrison Thompson; uncle, Steven Haugrud; and cousins, Kelly Szurgot Llamas, Philip Jason Szurgot and Cody W. Seals.

Gordon is survived by the loves of his life: Daughter, Lily Thompson and her mother, Harmony Runkel; father, Gordon Wayne Thompson, II; mother, Susan Haugrud Rasco-Fowler; sisters, Jill Rasco and Hope Rasco; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous very dear friends.
