Mr. Black was a native of Spartanburg County and a son of the late Ed and Edna Suttles "Boot" Black. He was employed with Beverage Air for a number of years and currently in maintenance by Fehrer Automotive and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons and a daughter in law: Brandon and Tayler Wilkie, Bryan Black; daughter and son in law: Bailee and Evan McElrath; brother: Billy Black and wife, Sharon; sisters and brothers in law: Linda and Rocky Teague, Janice Horton, Sue and Steve Isom, Sherry and Harold Miller, Barbara and Joe Starnes; five grandchildren: Savannah Wilkie, Wesley Wilkie, Brantlee Wilkie, Lexi Forringer and Colton Hand along with one additional blessing due in January; mother-in-law: Peggy Holloway and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father in law: George Holloway.
Visitation will be on Monday, July 12, 2021 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Green
Point Baptist Church. Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Dr. David
Lancaster. Entombment will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park.
