Born May 25, 1948, in Norristown, he was the son of the late Russell, Sr. and Jean (Chambers) Evans, and stepson of Lenore Evans. Russ was a graduate of Penn State University class of 1970 and was a proud member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity.
Russ was a family man who loved traveling, sports, music, and fishing. After retirement, he and Sandy spent ten weeks traveling around the country, visiting as many National Parks and brewpubs as possible. He was an avid Penn State football fan and also enjoyed watching college basketball. He also enjoyed playing sports from baseball, basketball, and soccer in his youth to golf throughout his adult life. Russ also enjoyed sharing his love of music by dancing with his grandchildren to his vast collection of concert DVDs.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Daniel C. Evans and his wife, Jeanene, of Mohnton; and his three granddaughters, Amalie, Hattie, and Lily.
He was predeceased by his son, Russell "Barry" Evans.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 11 AM on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at the R. L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 3440 Skippack Pike, Skippack PA 19474, where friends may greet the family from 10-11 AM. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park.
