Douglas Brent Potter from Kaysville, UT, died at age 59 on July 7, 2021, at St. Mark's Hospital due to a stroke. He was born in Ogden, UT, on September 5, 1961, to James and Bernice Potter and grew up in Layton, Utah. Doug graduated from Layton High School and then served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Arcadia, California. Later, he attended Weber State University and married Elaine Naegle in the Salt Lake Temple in 1986. Doug lived as a faithful servant of Jesus Christ every day. He enjoyed playing games with family, camping, and sharing stories of his life. His grandkids were the highlight of his life, and he was always the first person to lend a helping hand to those in need.

He is survived by his wife and 4 kids: Kaylynn (David), Scott (Melanie), Brent (Melissa), and Thomas (Sarah). 10 grandkids: Mathew, Blake, Hailey, Jaden, Cooper, Kennedy, Samantha, Hunter, Haydon, and Jaxson. His mother Bernice Potter-Wilson, his sister Diane (Dan), and 5 brothers Gary (Marcie), John (Linda), Wayne (Cheryl), Keith (Jolynn), Raymond (Naoma). Doug is preceded in death by his father James Richard Potter, and brother Edward.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, July 11, from 6 to 8 pm at Russon Mortuary 1941 N. Main Street Farmington, UT 84014. A second viewing will be Monday, July 12, from 9 am to 9:45 am at 1520 S. Fox Pointe Drive Kaysville, UT 84037. The funeral service will follow from 10 to 11 am. The interment will be at Ogden City Cemetery.
