Obituary for Scott C. Lawrence
Lawrence, Scott C., 52, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in Tulsa, OK. He was born October 29, 1965 in Tulsa, OK to Glen A. and Carolyn (Stumpff) Lawrence. He was Rural Route Mail Carrier in Oologah.

He was known for making the "world's best relish trays" for holiday gatherings. More importantly much to his three sisters' chagrin, he was always bringing more candy than his nieces and nephews could eat to all the holiday gatherings from the time they were toddlers to even now. This would include filled plastic Easter eggs for an egg hunt every year until the last few years when the youngest finally outgrew it at age 15. Although this never stopped him from bringing an abundance of candy to Christmas gatherings even this last year. Thus, giving him the name "The Candy Man" Uncle.

When Scott still lived at home, he developed a passion for gardening. He taught himself through trial and error how to make certain plants grow longer and stronger. He began redoing our mother's rock garden until it was flourishing. He began trading bulbs with the neighborhood gardener until he had a green thumb of his own. Around the same time period, Scott developed a love for hanging Christmas lights on all the neighbors' houses; but then ours was always last. He didn't really care whether they paid him or not, he just loved putting them up. Scott never met a cat he didn't like. He seemed to always have a cat in his life, either while growing up, or later feeding the apartment complex stray cats.

He was preceded in death by his father, Glen A. Lawrence. He is survived by his mother, Carolyn Lawrence; his siblings, Larry Lawrence, Susan Hanes and husband, Stephen; Sally Miller and husband, Bret, and Leanne Ball; nieces and nephews, Carolyn Sitter, Joshua Hanes, Jonathan Hanes, Winston Ball, Tristan Ball, Larry Lahmeyer, Kayla Smith, and Rebecca Sharp.

Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Street Cats, 6520 E. 60th, Tulsa, OK 74145
