Melvin Gene Newman, age 80, of Seymour, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2021. He was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church. Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, Vaughn and Bessie Newman, brothers, Dudley, Charles, Junior, and sister Sue.
Survivors: Wife of 51 years: Margaret Newman. Daughter: Cathy and Dr. Bill Fry. Grandchildren: Christopher Fry with Jennifer Lane, Jessica and Eli Tarwater. Great-grandchildren: Gabriel, Abigail and Elizabeth Tarwater. Brothers: Bob and Laverne Newman, Fred Newman, and Ted Newman. Sisters: Peggy and Gerald Hall, Linda and Eddie Rutherford, Pat and Chuck Roberts, Becky and Schuyer Snyder, and Nancy Newman. Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Eddie and Jeanette Ballard, Roy and Edna Rogers, and Phil McMahan. Nephew: Matt and Michele Ballard Great nieces: Jordan and Reid Ballard
