Obituary of Sarah Taylor Ney
Sarah Taylor Ney 103, of Chattanooga, went to be with the Lord on July 4, 2021.
Mrs. Ney was born in Chattanooga, TN where she lived most of her life. Sarah was a 78 year member of Brainerd United Methodist Church, where she taught a Children's Sunday School class for 10 years. Sarah was the secretary of Missionary Ridge Grammar School for 20 years.
Sarah was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Dorman A. Ney, parents, Harry Thomas Taylor and Etta King Taylor, Sarah's siblings, Harry Charles; Mamie Jean; Alfred William; Robert Lee and Judge John Boone Taylor, great-granddaughter, Macy Ney Tolbert and niece, Lee Anne Kafka.
Surviving are her daughters, Dorma Ney Pomeroy, her care giver, of Missionary Ridge; and Sharon Ney (Terry) Tolbert, of Shrewsbury, MO; four grandsons, Charles Terry (Carolyn) Tolbert II of Marietta, GA., Christian Ney (Shelly) Tolbert of Wildwood, MO; Brett Alexander Pomeroy and Ryan Ney (Tracey) Pomeroy of Fayetteville, AR; eleven great-grandchildren, Tyler William; Corey Charles; Emma Catherine Tolbert; Grace Ney; Addison Wesley; Sara Emerson; Piker Alexander Pomeroy; Ella James; and Sydney Kaylyn Tolbert; sister-in-law, Jo Taylor of Las Vegas, nieces, Diane Taylor and Maureen Crampton of Las Vegas; Barbara (Glenn) Lemley, nephews, Larry (Toni) Taylor, and Steve (Dania) Taylor of Chattanooga.
Visitation will be held at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday July 9, 2021. Graveside services will follow the visitation at Forest Hills Cemetery with Rev. Laura Trent officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Samaritan's Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607, in Mrs. Ney's name.
Arrangements are under the care of Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist East Chapel, 404 South Moore Rd. East Ridge, TN 37412.
