Charles was born in McMinnville, Oregon, on July 17, 1932 to Percy and Winifred Chegwyn. He attended school in McMinnville, graduating from McMinnville High School in 1950. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955.
Charles was a fruit and vegetable gardener and worked on farms and in orchards most of his life. He also belonged to the Historical Society, Oregon Farm Bureau, and First Presbyterian Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Winifred, and sister, Kathleen Elizabeth Mastenbrook. Charles is survived by sister, Agnes "Betty" Chegwyn, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A graveside services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, July 10th, at the McMinnville Masonic Cemetery.
