Harold L. Holmes, of Carbon Cliff, IL, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021, peacefully at home with family by his side.

Visitation will be held on Saturday July 10, from 10am-12pm at the Runge Mortuary, followed by the funeral service. He will be laid to rest in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family.

Harold was born December 10, 1949 to Olvin and Lucille (Bernauer) Holmes in Davenport, Iowa. Harold proudly served in the United States Army and was a radio operator in the Vietnam War. He was employed for many years as a lead inspector at Blackhawk Foundry. He was also at Warsham's Service Station, The Prom Roller Rink, Tri State Trucking, Murphy Brothers Inc., and retired from Adrian Carriers Trucking Company in 2011.

Harold enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved fishing, building model airplanes, model warships and playing various war games on his computer. He loved and adored his grandpups and special caregivers Tick, Cocoa and Charley.

Survivors include his daughters, Jennifer Bruce of Carbon Cliff, IL, and Devonna Lobdell of Muscatine, IA; son, Gene (Stephanie) Holmes of Davenport, IA; sister, Sylvia (Robert) Tatum of Blue Grass, IA; brother, Robert (Sharon) Holmes of Davenport, IA; seven grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and two brothers.
