Nellie Elizabeth Trisler Burton, 80, Edinburgh died at 12:40 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.

Mrs. Burton worked for Enterprise Car Rental for 10 years, retiring in 2006. She attended First Baptist Church in Taylorsville and enjoyed crocheting, baking, mushroom hunting, fishing and spending time with family.

She was much loved and will be greatly missed.

A graveside service will be conducted at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh at a later late. There will be no calling or funeral service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 6415 Castleway West Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46250, or the donor's choice of charities.

Arrangements were made by Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh.

Born in Greensburg Dec. 23, 1926, Mrs. Burton was the daughter of James and Lottie Stroup Trisler. She married Marvin Ray Burton Sr., June 4, 1943. He preceded her in death Dec.10, 2006.

She is survived by a son, Marvin (Jackie) Burton Jr. of Vonore, Tenn.; daughters, Marilyn Burton of Edinburgh and Carolyn (Richard) Giles of Columbus; grandchildren, Douglas Ray Burton of Louisville, Ky., Susan (Carey) Cox of Edinburgh, Jean Giles (Steve Presson) of Norman, Okla., and Sarah (John) Atkinson of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Heather Turner of Edinburgh, Maile and Mara Cox of Edinburgh, David and Zoé Atkinson of Columbus and Jacob Presson of Norman, Okla.; a brother, Lewis Eugene (Evelyn) Trisler of Hope; a sister, Norma (Dean) Fiesbeck of East Troy, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, James Trisler and William and Joseph Booher; and sisters, Lois Clark, Mary Mackey, Ruth Bruner and Caroline Trisler.
