Rita Louise Blair Barnes age 81, of Rossville, Georgia went home to be with The Lord Wednesday – July 7, 2021. She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Fred Douglas and Geneva Ruth Smith Blair. She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and Northwest Georgia area. She was a former employee of S. S. Kresge's Department Store and Red Food/Bi-Lo Grocery Stores. She enjoying painting and was very good at painting portraits. She was a former member of Park City Baptist Church, a charter member of Shiloh Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years and a current member of Solid Rock Baptist Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents: Veston & Ethel Mae Horton, Ernest "Bully" & Hazel "MeeMaw" Thomas Blair, brother: Lloyd Gene Cox; step – mother, Peggy Killingsworth Blair. She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years: Glenn Edward Barnes of Rossville, GA, their children: Ricky (Lisa) Barnes of Chickamauga, GA, Karen (Charlie) Wall of Rossville, GA, sister: Linda Faye Brackett (Ronald V.) Elkins of Ringgold, GA, sister-in-law: Burley "Sue" Cox of Mulberry Mountain, TN, grandchildren: Alan (Sherri) Barnes, Amy (Steve) Brown, Charlie J. "C.J." Wall IV, Thomas Wall, Laura Barnes, Tony Mazzoli; ten great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm and after 10:00 am Monday before the service. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. – Monday – July 12, 2021 in the chapel with Pastor Josh Hollifield officiating. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens-South in Rossville, Georgia.
