Mr. Flowers is survived by his Loving Partner of 33 years, Rita Ruderman; children Keri Flowers, Kim Flowers; Rita's children, Rich, Cindy, Patrick, and Theresa Trammel; grandchild Adina; niece and nephew Rich and Lisa Hoffman and their children Nicole, JR, Peyton and Chesney, Scott (Teresa) Remfry, Aaron (Paulie) Remfry, Ken (Jelena) Remfry and their families, and Kevin Remfry. He was a brother-in-law, cousin, uncle, great uncle and friend.

Mr. Flowers was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Frances Flowers; son, Brendan Flowers; siblings Charles Flowers, Betty Remfry, Robert Flowers, Phyllis Jean Flowers, Nancy Flowers.

Jim was born and raised in Topeka, Kansas. He excelled in his youth as a shortstop with the American Legion Baseball Team in Topeka. He worked for the railroad, served in the US Air Force then received his bachelor's degree from Washington University of St. Louis, MO. He was employed with Kessler Corp. and Alpha Plastics as a controller and retired in 2005. Jim had a passion for sports, technology, and chess. He loved the 1950s era, all kinds of music, traveling, and square dancing. He was very patriotic, had a quiet demeanor, and a kind heart.
