JoAnn DeFrates, 89, peacefully passed away July1, 2021 in Safford, AZ. JoAnn was born on December 20, 1931 in Holbrook, AZ. JoAnn was born to Elmer and Ethel Foutz. JoAnn graduated from Kirtland Central High School and went on to marry the love of her life Charles Edward DeFrates. They were sealed in the Mesa Temple for time and all eternity on May 28, 1964. They had 65 wonderful years together before Charles passing in 2017.
JoAnn is survived by her children: Melissa Green (Steve) and Herbert Glenn DeFrates (Jill), grandchildren: Mia Dibble (Drew), KaSandra Garcia (Johnny), SeTara George, Keasha George (Steve), Destynie DeFrates, and David DeFrates along with 18 great grandchildren. Siblings: sister, Mildred Carberry, brothers: Hank Foutz (Jayne), Bruce Foutz (Rosemary), Loyd Foutz.
JoAnn is precedent by her husband, parents, sisters: Helen, Rose, Ardith, Eileen, brother: EJ Foutz.
Services will be at The LDS church at 4400 College Blvd. Viewing from 9-10, Service 10-11. Burial at Kirtland Cemetery.
