Fort Bend Herald, July 11, 2021:

Daniel passed away at his home in Richmond, Texas on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at the age of 69. He was surrounded by his children and his loving family as he went to be with the Lord.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Gonzales and Mary Ramirez; and brother, Joe Gonzales; and sister, Rosa Meza.

Mr. Gonzalez, better known as "Captain D", is survived by his siblings, Thomas Gonzales and Mary Cervantes; and his children, Daniel Baladez, wife Joann, Rick Garcia, wife, Jessica, Dora B. Hayes, husband, Stephen, Lena Garcia, and Maggie B. Ortiz, husband, Romeo; along with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many family and friends.

"Captain D" is a veteran of the Vietnam War. He served in the United States Army honorably from February 12, 1969 to February 7, 1971.

If you would like to join the family in Celebrating his Life, a memorial service will be held for the public this Monday, July 12, 2021, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Arteaga's Funeral Home located at 5710 Fairdale Lane in Houston, Texas 77057. Last farewells for visitation will be Tuesday, July 13, 2021, from 8:00 am to 10:00 am. We will depart at 10:30 am in procession to the Houston National Cemetery for a Military Honors Ceremony to be held at 11:30 am.
